This is explicit. It is not

Mohammed was a false prophet.
Islam is blasphemy. Jihad allows
Moslems/Muslems to execute
those who will not submit to Islam.
Years ago I chose the
beginning words of the following prayers to address the blasphemy of the
Moslems. During the Persian Gulf War of the early nineties, I felt that
our national leaders participated in that blasphemy by standing in front
of the MOSLEM banner that proclaims in Arabic; "There is no God but Allah
and Mohammed is His prophet", it is blasphemy since the Moslems do not
believe that Jesus the Christ is God.
There is no God but Jesus, The
Great Architect of the Universe, whose words were written by Holy men of
old. Jesus Christ the pre-existent, everlasting creator of the Cosmos has
provided for the forgiveness of our sin. He was baptized in his blood on
the cross. He reigns forever and ever. Trust Christ alone who loves and
keeps you. The Holy Spirit draws and seals you into the Church (body) of
Christ. Jesus the most high God, Jehovah, will never leave you or forsake
you. There is no God but Jesus. Jesus is the Son of God and the Grand
Architect of the Universe.
In the name of Adonai Elohim
Jehovah Sabaoth the Lord God of Hosts Jesus Christ, The Grand Architect of
the Universe, the pre-existent, everlasting, eternal, creator, redeemer
and sustainer of the cosmos. Whom through his infinite, merciful, full,
perfect, sufficient, complete and continuous atoning makes us just, I pray
that you rebuke the powers of darkness, send Michael your Archangel to
fight Satan and Your Holy Spirit to control the forces of darkness as you
Sects of Islamic Jihad, by any
of many names, have persisted since the eighth Century and must be
eradicated, using tactical nuclear weapons if necessary! Christian worship
is forbidden in Moslem nations, which are ruled by Islamic Sharia law, yet
they demand that we use our blood bought Bill-of -Rights to defend them.
Christians are allowed to defend themselves! Demand the Moslem Countries
cease the persecution of Christians.
In 1993 I wrote and published
""Throughout my life, I have
seen leaders in our country pray in the name of God Without clearly
indicating that they believe that Jesus The Christ is the Uncreated
pre-existent Lord God Eternal Jehovah El Olam. It is difficult to
determine in this pluralistic society, this "Diverse" culture, to what
"god" they pray. This reluctance to declare The Christ as He taught
Himself to be even extends from the pulpit to the Whitehouse and the
battlefield. During the recent Desert Storm activities, our leaders often
stood in front of the Moslem banner. The Arabic words on the banner
declare "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His Prophet." It takes
very little study of the Moslem faith to see that they do not believe that
Jesus is Allah nor would they agree Jesus The Christ is the uncreated
pre-existent Lord God Eternal. By the testimony on that banner, Moslems
spread the blasphemy that Jesus was a liar and had an earthly father. They
attempt to mitigate this by saying "He was a great prophet just as
Muhammad was." Once again. Holy Scripture clearly documents Jesus proving
he is God. Other groups call themselves Christian yet teach that Jesus was
a created being or a descendant of God. It is my conviction that they do
not believe in the Lord God Jehovah, Jesus the Savior. I respect the right
of others to believe as they choose. As a young man I took an oath in the
military to protect to the death their right to believe as they choose.
However, that or the Constitution does not impel me to respect or lend
credibility to those beliefs if they are contrary to what has been
revealed in the canon of Holy Scripture handed down by holy men of

truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and
His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in
Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three" - Cease! (it is) better for
you! - Allah is only One Allah. Far is it removed from His Transcendent
Majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and
all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender.
SHAKIR: O followers of the Book! do not exceed the
limits in your religion, and do not speak (lies) against Allah, but
(speak) the truth; the Messiah, Isa son of Marium is only a messenger of
Allah and His Word which He communicated to Marium and a spirit from Him;
believe therefore in Allah and His messengers, and say not, Three. Desist,
it is better for you; Allah is only one Allah; far be It from His glory
that He should have a son, whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in
the earth is His, and Allah is sufficient for a Protector.
YUSUFALI: O People of the Book!
Now hath come unto you, making (things) clear unto you, Our Messenger,
after the break in (the series of) our messengers, lest ye should say:
"There came unto us no bringer of glad tidings and no warner (from evil)":
But now hath come unto you a bringer of glad tidings and a warner (from
evil). And Allah hath power over all things.
PICKTHAL: O People of the Scripture! Now hath Our
messenger come unto you to make things plain unto you after an interval
(of cessation) of the messengers, lest ye should say: There came not unto
us a messenger of cheer nor any warner. Now hath a messenger of cheer and
a warner come unto you. Allah is Able to do all things.
SHAKIR: O followers of the Book! indeed Our Messenger
has come to you explaining to you after a cessation of the (mission of
the) messengers, lest you say: There came not to us a giver of good news
or a warner, so indeed there has come to you a giver of good news and a
warner; and Allah has power over all things.
YUSUFALI: Remember Moses said to
his people: "O my people! Call in remembrance the favour of Allah unto
you, when He produced prophets among you, made you kings, and gave you
what He had not given to any other among the peoples.
PICKTHAL: And (remember) when Moses said unto his
people: O my people! Remember Allah's favour unto you, how He placed among
you prophets, and He made you kings, and gave you that (which) He gave not
to any (other) of (His) creatures.
SHAKIR: And when
Musa said to his people: O my people! remember the favor of Allah upon you
when He raised prophets among you and made you kings and gave you what He
had not given to any other among the nations.
YUSUFALI: "O my people! Enter the
holy land which Allah hath assigned unto you, and turn not back
ignominiously, for then will ye be overthrown, to your own ruin."
PICKTHAL: O my people! Go into the holy land which
Allah hath ordained for you. Turn not in flight, for surely ye turn back
SHAKIR: O my people! enter the holy land
which Allah has prescribed for you and turn not on your backs for then you
will turn back losers.
YUSUFALI: They do blaspheme who
say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One
Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a
grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them.
PICKTHAL: They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah
is the third of three; when there is no Allah save the One Allah. If they
desist not from so saying a painful doom will fall on those of them who
SHAKIR: Certainly they disbelieve who
say: Surely Allah is the third (person) of the three; and there is no god
but the one Allah, and if they desist not from what they say, a painful
chastisement shall befall those among them who disbelieve.
YUSUFALI: Why turn they not to
Allah, and seek His forgiveness? For Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most
PICKTHAL: Will they not rather turn unto
Allah and seek forgiveness of Him? For Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
SHAKIR: Will they not then turn to Allah and ask His
forgiveness? And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
YUSUFALI: Christ the son of Mary
was no more than a messenger; many were the messengers that passed away
before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their
(daily) food. See how Allah doth make His signs clear to them; yet see in
what ways they are deluded away from the truth!
PICKTHAL: The Messiah, son of Mary, was no other than
a messenger, messengers (the like of whom) had passed away before him. And
his mother was a saintly woman. And they both used to eat (earthly) food.
See how We make the revelations clear for them, and see how they are
SHAKIR: The Messiah, son of Marium is
but a messenger; messengers before him have indeed passed away; and his
mother was a truthful woman; they both used to eat food. See how We make
the communications clear to them, then behold, how they are turned away.
YUSUFALI: Say: "Will ye worship,
besides Allah, something which hath no power either to harm or benefit
you? But Allah,- He it is that heareth and knoweth all things."
PICKTHAL: Say: Serve ye in place of Allah that which
possesseth for you neither hurt nor use? Allah it is Who is the Hearer,
SHAKIR: Say: Do you serve besides Allah
that which does not control for you any harm, or any profit? And Allah--
He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
YUSUFALI: Say: "O people of the
Book! exceed not in your religion the bounds (of what is proper),
trespassing beyond the truth, nor follow the vain desires of people who
went wrong in times gone by,- who misled many, and strayed (themselves)
from the even way.
PICKTHAL: Say: O People of the
Scripture! Stress not in your religion other than the truth, and follow
not the vain desires of folk who erred of old and led many astray, and
erred from a plain road.
SHAKIR: Say: O followers of
the Book! be not unduly immoderate in your religion, and do not follow the
low desires of people who went astray before and led many astray and went
astray from the right path.
YUSUFALI: Curses were pronounced
on those among the Children of Israel who rejected Faith, by the tongue of
David and of Jesus the son of Mary: because they disobeyed and persisted
PICKTHAL: Those of the Children of
Israel who went astray were cursed by the tongue of David, and of Jesus,
son of Mary. That was because they rebelled and used to transgress.
SHAKIR: Those who disbelieved from among the children
of Israel were cursed by the tongue of Dawood and Isa, son of Marium; this
was because they disobeyed and used to exceed the limit.
YUSUFALI: Nor did they (usually)
forbid one another the iniquities which they committed: evil indeed were
the deeds which they did.
PICKTHAL: They restrained
not one another from the wickedness they did. Verily evil was that they
used to do!
SHAKIR: They used not to forbid each
other the hateful things (which) they did; certainly evil was that which
YUSUFALI: Thou seest many of them
turning in friendship to the Unbelievers. Evil indeed are (the works)
which their souls have sent forward before them (with the result), that
Allah's wrath is on them, and in torment will they abide.
PICKTHAL: Thou seest many of them making friends with
those who disbelieve. Surely ill for them is that which they themselves
send on before them: that Allah will be wroth with them and in the doom
they will abide.
SHAKIR: You will see many of them
befriending those who disbelieve; certainly evil is that which their souls
have sent before for them, that Allah became displeased with them and in
chastisement shall they abide.
YUSUFALI: Remember thy Lord
inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to
the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers:
smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them."
PICKTHAL: When thy Lord inspired the angels,
(saying): I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will
throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then smite the necks
and smite of them each finger.
SHAKIR: When your Lord
revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who
believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve.
Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.
YUSUFALI: This because they
contended against Allah and His Messenger: If any contend against Allah
and His Messenger, Allah is strict in punishment.
PICKTHAL: That is because they opposed Allah and His
messenger. Whoso opposeth Allah and His messenger, (for him) lo! Allah is
severe in punishment.
SHAKIR: This is because they
acted adversely to Allah and His Messenger; and whoever acts adversely to
Allah and His Messenger-- then surely Allah is severe in requiting (evil).
YUSUFALI: Thus (will it be said):
"Taste ye then of the (punishment): for those who resist Allah, is the
penalty of the Fire."
PICKTHAL: That (is the award),
so taste it, and (know) that for disbelievers is the torment of the Fire.
SHAKIR: This-- taste it, and (know) that for the
unbelievers is the chastisement of fire.
YUSUFALI: O ye who believe! when
ye meet the Unbelievers in hostile array, never turn your backs to them.
PICKTHAL: O ye who believe! When ye meet those who
disbelieve in battle, turn not your backs to them.
SHAKIR: O you who believe! when you meet those who
disbelieve marching for war, then turn not your backs to them.
YUSUFALI: If any do turn his back
to them on such a day - unless it be in a stratagem of war, or to retreat
to a troop (of his own)- he draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and his
abode is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed)!
Whoso on that day turneth his back to them, unless manoeuvring for battle
or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and
his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey's end.
SHAKIR: And whoever shall turn his back to them on
that day-- unless he turn aside for the sake of fighting or withdraws to a
company-- then he, indeed, becomes deserving of Allah's wrath, and his
abode is hell; and an evil destination shall it be.
YUSUFALI: It is not ye who slew
them; it was Allah: when thou threwest (a handful of dust), it was not thy
act, but Allah's: in order that He might test the Believers by a gracious
trial from Himself: for Allah is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things).
PICKTHAL: Ye (Muslims) slew them not, but Allah slew
them. And thou (Muhammad) threwest not when thou didst throw, but Allah
threw, that He might test the believers by a fair test from Him. Lo! Allah
is Hearer, Knower.
SHAKIR: So you did not slay them,
but it was Allah Who slew them, and you did not smite when you smote (the
enemy), but it was Allah Who smote, and that He might confer upon the
believers a good gift from Himself; surely Allah is Hearing, Knowing.
YUSUFALI: That, and also because
Allah is He Who makes feeble the plans and stratagem of the Unbelievers.
PICKTHAL: That (is the case); and (know) that Allah
(it is) Who maketh weak the plan of disbelievers.
SHAKIR: This, and that Allah is the weakener of the
struggle of the unbelievers.
YUSUFALI: (O Unbelievers!) if ye
prayed for victory and judgment, now hath the judgment come to you: if ye
desist (from wrong), it will be best for you: if ye return (to the
attack), so shall We. Not the least good will your forces be to you even
if they were multiplied: for verily Allah is with those who believe!
PICKTHAL: (O Qureysh!) If ye sought a judgment, now
hath the judgment come unto you. And if ye cease (from persecuting the
believers) it will be better for you, but if ye return (to the attack) We
also shall return. And your host will avail you naught, however numerous
it be, and (know) that Allah is with the believers (in His Guidance).
SHAKIR: If you demanded a judgment, the judgment has
then indeed come to you; and if you desist, it will be better for you; and
if you turn back (to fight), We (too) shall turn back, and your forces
shall avail you nothing, though they may be many, and (know) that Allah is
with the believers.
YUSUFALI: A (declaration) of
immunity from Allah and His Messenger, to those of the Pagans with whom ye
have contracted mutual alliances:-
from obligation (is proclaimed) from Allah and His messenger toward those
of the idolaters with whom ye made a treaty.
(This is a declaration of) immunity by Allah and His Messenger towards
those of the idolaters with whom you made an agreement.
YUSUFALI: Go ye, then, for four
months, backwards and forwards, (as ye will), throughout the land, but
know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah (by your falsehood) but that Allah
will cover with shame those who reject Him.
Travel freely in the land four months, and know that ye cannot escape
Allah and that Allah will confound the disbelievers (in His Guidance).
SHAKIR: So go about in the land for four months and
know that you cannot weaken Allah and that Allah will bring disgrace to
YUSUFALI: And an announcement
from Allah and His Messenger, to the people (assembled) on the day of the
Great Pilgrimage,- that Allah and His Messenger dissolve (treaty)
obligations with the Pagans. If then, ye repent, it were best for you; but
if ye turn away, know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah. And proclaim a
grievous penalty to those who reject Faith.
And a proclamation from Allah and His messenger to all men on the day of
the Greater Pilgrimage that Allah is free from obligation to the
idolaters, and (so is) His messenger. So, if ye repent, it will be better
for you; but if ye are averse, then know that ye cannot escape Allah. Give
tidings (O Muhammad) of a painful doom to those who disbelieve,
SHAKIR: And an announcement from Allah and His
Messenger to the people on the day of the greater pilgrimage that Allah
and His Messenger are free from liability to the idolaters; therefore if
you repent, it will be better for you, and if you turn back, then know
that you will not weaken Allah; and announce painful punishment to those
YUSUFALI: (But the treaties are)
not dissolved with those Pagans with whom ye have entered into alliance
and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor aided any one
against you. So fulfil your engagements with them to the end of their
term: for Allah loveth the righteous.
Excepting those of the idolaters with whom ye (Muslims) have a treaty, and
who have since abated nothing of your right nor have supported anyone
against you. (As for these), fulfil their treaty to them till their term.
Lo! Allah loveth those who keep their duty (unto Him).
SHAKIR: Except those of the idolaters with whom you
made an agreement, then they have not failed you in anything and have not
backed up any one against you, so fulfill their agreement to the end of
their term; surely Allah loves those who are careful (of their duty).
YUSUFALI: But when the forbidden
months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an
seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem
(of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise
regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving,
PICKTHAL: Then, when the sacred months
have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them
(captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they
repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way
free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever
you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for
them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the
poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving,
YUSUFALI: If one amongst the
Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word
of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be secure. That is because
they are men without knowledge.
PICKTHAL: And if
anyone of the idolaters seeketh thy protection (O Muhammad), then protect
him so that he may hear the Word of Allah, and afterward convey him to his
place of safety. That is because they are a folk who know not.
SHAKIR: And if one of the idolaters seek protection
from you, grant him protection till he hears the word of Allah, then make
him attain his place of safety; this is because they are a people who do
YUSUFALI: How can there be a
league, before Allah and His Messenger, with the Pagans, except those with
whom ye made a treaty near the sacred Mosque? As long as these stand true
to you, stand ye true to them: for Allah doth love the righteous.
PICKTHAL: How can there be a treaty with Allah and
with His messenger for the idolaters save those with whom ye made a treaty
at the Inviolable Place of Worship? So long as they are true to you, be
true to them. Lo! Allah loveth those who keep their duty.
SHAKIR: How can there be an agreement for the
idolaters with Allah and with His Messenger; except those with whom you
made an agreement at the Sacred Mosque? So as long as they are true to
you, be true to them; surely Allah loves those who are careful (of their
YUSUFALI: How (can there be such
a league), seeing that if they get an advantage over you, they respect not
in you the ties either of kinship or of covenant? With (fair words from)
their mouths they entice you, but their hearts are averse from you; and
most of them are rebellious and wicked.
(can there be any treaty for the others) when, if they have the upper hand
of you, they regard not pact nor honour in respect of you? They satisfy
you with their mouths the while their hearts refuse. And most of them are
SHAKIR: How (can it be)! while if they
prevail against you, they would not pay regard in your case to ties of
relationship, nor those of covenant; they please you with their mouths
while their hearts do not consent; and most of them are transgressors.
YUSUFALI: The Signs of Allah have
they sold for a miserable price, and (many) have they hindered from His
way: evil indeed are the deeds they have done.
PICKTHAL: They have purchased with the revelations of
Allah a little gain, so they debar (men) from His way. Lo! evil is that
which they are wont to do.
SHAKIR: They have taken a
small price for the communications of Allah, so they turn away from His
way; surely evil is it that they do.
YUSUFALI: In a Believer they
respect not the ties either of kinship or of covenant! It is they who have
transgressed all bounds.
PICKTHAL: And they observe
toward a believer neither pact nor honour. These are they who are
SHAKIR: They do not pay regard to ties
of relationship nor those of covenant in the case of a believer; and these
are they who go beyond the limits.
YUSUFALI: But (even so), if they
repent, establish regular prayers, and practise regular charity,- they are
your brethren in Faith: (thus) do We explain the Signs in detail, for
those who understand.
PICKTHAL: But if they repent
and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then are they your brethren in
religion. We detail Our revelations for a people who have knowledge.
SHAKIR: But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay
the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and We make the
communications clear for a people who know.
YUSUFALI: But if they violate
their oaths after their covenant, and taunt you for your Faith,- fight ye
the chiefs of Unfaith: for their oaths are nothing to them: that thus they
may be restrained.
PICKTHAL: And if they break their
pledges after their treaty (hath been made with you) and assail your
religion, then fight the heads of disbelief - Lo! they have no binding
oaths - in order that they may desist.
SHAKIR: And if
they break their oaths after their agreement and (openly) revile your
religion, then fight the leaders of unbelief-- surely their oaths are
nothing-- so that they may desist.
YUSUFALI: Will ye not fight
people who violated their oaths, plotted to expel the Messenger, and took
the aggressive by being the first (to assault) you? Do ye fear them? Nay,
it is Allah Whom ye should more justly fear, if ye believe!
PICKTHAL: Will ye not fight a folk who broke their
solemn pledges, and purposed to drive out the messenger and did attack you
first? What! Fear ye them? Now Allah hath more right that ye should fear
Him, if ye are believers
SHAKIR: What! will you not
fight a people who broke their oaths and aimed at the expulsion of the
Messenger, and they attacked you first; do you fear them? But Allah is
most deserving that you should fear Him, if you are believers.
YUSUFALI: Fight them, and Allah
will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame, help you (to
victory) over them, heal the breasts of Believers,
PICKTHAL: Fight them! Allah will chastise them at
your hands, and He will lay them low and give you victory over them, and
He will heal the breasts of folk who are believers.
SHAKIR: Fight them, Allah will punish them by your
hands and bring them to disgrace, and assist you against them and heal the
hearts of a believing people.
YUSUFALI: And still the
indignation of their hearts. For Allah will turn (in mercy) to whom He
will; and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
And He will remove the anger of their hearts. Allah relenteth toward whom
He will. Allah is Knower, Wise.
SHAKIR: And remove
the rage of their hearts; and Allah turns (mercifully) to whom He pleases,
and Allah is Knowing, Wise.
YUSUFALI: Or think ye that ye
shall be abandoned, as though Allah did not know those among you who
strive with might and main, and take none for friends and protectors
except Allah, His Messenger, and the (community of) Believers? But Allah
is well-acquainted with (all) that ye do.
Or deemed ye that ye would be left (in peace) when Allah yet knoweth not
those of you who strive, choosing for familiar none save Allah and His
messenger and the believers? Allah is Informed of what ye do.
SHAKIR: What! do you think that you will be left
alone while Allah has not yet known those of you who have struggled hard
and have not taken any one as an adherent besides Allah and His Messenger
and the believers; and Allah is aware of what you do.
YUSUFALI: It is not for such as
join gods with Allah, to visit or maintain the mosques of Allah while they
witness against their own souls to infidelity. The works of such bear no
fruit: In Fire shall they dwell.
PICKTHAL: It is not
for the idolaters to tend Allah's sanctuaries, bearing witness against
themselves of disbelief. As for such, their works are vain and in the Fire
they will abide.
SHAKIR: The idolaters have no right
to visit the mosques of Allah while bearing witness to unbelief against
themselves, these it is whose doings are null, and in the fire shall they
YUSUFALI: Fight those who believe
not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been
forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of
Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the
Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
PICKTHAL: Fight against such of those who have been
given the Scripture as believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, and forbid
not that which Allah hath forbidden by His messenger, and follow not the
Religion of Truth, until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low.
SHAKIR: Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor
in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have
prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been
given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority
and they are in a state of subjection.
YUSUFALI: The Jews call 'Uzair a
son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a
saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers
of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away
from the Truth!
PICKTHAL: And the Jews say: Ezra is
the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah.
That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those
who disbelieved of old. Allah (Himself) fighteth against them. How
perverse are they!
SHAKIR: And the Jews say: Uzair is
the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah;
these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who
disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!
YUSUFALI: They take their priests
and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of Allah, and (they
take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to
worship but One Allah: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him:
(Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him).
PICKTHAL: They have taken as lords beside Allah their
rabbis and their monks and the Messiah son of Mary, when they were bidden
to worship only One Allah. There is no Allah save Him. Be He Glorified
from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)!
SHAKIR: They have taken their doctors of law and
their monks for lords besides Allah, and (also) the Messiah son of Marium
and they were enjoined that they should serve one Allah only, there is no
god but He; far from His glory be what they set up (with Him).
YUSUFALI: The number of months in
the sight of Allah is twelve (in a year)- so ordained by Him the day He
created the heavens and the earth; of them four are sacred: that is the
straight usage. So wrong not yourselves therein, and fight the Pagans all
together as they fight you all together. But know that Allah is with those
who restrain themselves.
PICKTHAL: Lo! the number of
the months with Allah is twelve months by Allah's ordinance in the day
that He created the heavens and the earth. Four of them are sacred: that
is the right religion. So wrong not yourselves in them. And wage war on
all of the idolaters as they are waging war on all of you. And know that
Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him).
SHAKIR: Surely the number of months with Allah is
twelve months in Allah's ordinance since the day when He created the
heavens and the earth, of these four being sacred; that is the right
reckoning; therefore be not unjust to yourselves regarding them, and fight
the polytheists all together as they fight you all together; and know that
Allah is with those who guard (against evil).
YUSUFALI: They say: "(Allah) Most
Gracious has begotten a son!"
PICKTHAL: And they say:
The Beneficent hath taken unto Himself a son.
And they say: The Beneficent Allah has taken (to Himself) a son.
YUSUFALI: Indeed ye have put
forth a thing most monstrous!
PICKTHAL: Assuredly ye
utter a disastrous thing
SHAKIR: Certainly you have
made an abominable assertion
YUSUFALI: At it the skies are
ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down
in utter ruin,
PICKTHAL: Whereby almost the heavens
are torn, and the earth is split asunder and the mountains fall in ruins,
SHAKIR: The heavens may almost be rent thereat, and
the earth cleave asunder, and the mountains fall down in pieces,
YUSUFALI: That they should invoke
a son for (Allah) Most Gracious.
PICKTHAL: That ye
ascribe unto the Beneficent a son,
SHAKIR: That they
ascribe a son to the Beneficent Allah.
YUSUFALI: For it is not consonant
with the majesty of (Allah) Most Gracious that He should beget a son.
PICKTHAL: When it is not meet for (the Majesty of)
the Beneficent that He should choose a son.
And it is not worthy of the Beneficent Allah that He should take (to
Himself) a son.
YUSUFALI: Those who reject Allah
and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah,- their deeds will Allah render
astray (from their mark).
PICKTHAL: Those who
disbelieve and turn (men) from the way of Allah, He rendereth their
SHAKIR: (As for) those who disbelieve
and turn away from Allah's way, He shall render their works ineffective.
YUSUFALI: But those who believe
and work deeds of righteousness, and believe in the (Revelation) sent down
to Muhammad - for it is the Truth from their Lord,- He will remove from
them their ills and improve their condition.
PICKTHAL: And those who believe and do good works and
believe in that which is revealed unto Muhammad - and it is the truth from
their Lord - He riddeth them of their ill-deeds and improveth their state.
SHAKIR: And (as for) those who believe and do good,
and believe in what has been revealed to Muhammad, and it is the very
truth from their Lord, He will remove their evil from them and improve
YUSUFALI: This because those who
reject Allah follow vanities, while those who believe follow the Truth
from their Lord: Thus does Allah set forth for men their lessons by
PICKTHAL: That is because those who
disbelieve follow falsehood and because those who believe follow the truth
from their Lord. Thus Allah coineth their similitudes for mankind.
SHAKIR: That is because those who disbelieve follow
falsehood, and have given them their dowries, taking (them) in marriage,
not fornicating nor taking them for paramours in secret; and whoever
denies faith, his work indeed is of no account, and in the hereafter he
shall be one of the losers.
YUSUFALI: Therefore, when ye meet
the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have
thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the
time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its
burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He
could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets
you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain
in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.
PICKTHAL: Now when ye meet in battle those who
disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when ye have routed
them, then making fast of bonds; and afterward either grace or ransom till
the war lay down its burdens. That (is the ordinance). And if Allah willed
He could have punished them (without you) but (thus it is ordained) that
He may try some of you by means of others. And those who are slain in the
way of Allah, He rendereth not their actions vain.
SHAKIR: So when you meet in battle those who
disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then
make (them) prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or
let them ransom (themselves) until the war terminates. That (shall be so);
and if Allah had pleased He would certainly have exacted what is due from
them, but that He may try some of you by means of others; and (as for)
those who are slain in the way of Allah, He will by no means allow their
deeds to perish.
YUSUFALI: Soon will He guide them
and improve their condition,
PICKTHAL: He will guide
them and improve their state,
SHAKIR: He will guide
them and improve their condition.
YUSUFALI: And admit them to the
Garden which He has announced for them.
bring them in unto the Garden which He hath made known to them.
SHAKIR: And cause them to enter the garden which He
has made known to them.
YUSUFALI: Those who reject
(Truth), among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, were not
going to depart (from their ways) until there should come to them Clear
PICKTHAL: Those who disbelieve among the
People of the Scripture and the idolaters could not have left off (erring)
till the clear proof came unto them,
who disbelieved from among the followers of the Book and the polytheists
could not have separated (from the faithful) until there had come to them
the clear evidence:
YUSUFALI: Those who reject
(Truth), among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be
in Hell-Fire, to dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures.
PICKTHAL: Lo! those who disbelieve, among the People
of the Scripture and the idolaters, will abide in fire of hell. They are
the worst of created beings.
SHAKIR: Surely those who
disbelieve from among the followers of the Book and the polytheists shall
be in the fire of hell, abiding therein; they are the worst of men.
